3 Day Rwanda Gorilla trekking tour.

This 3 day Rwanda gorilla safari will start and end in Kigali Rwanda’s capital which is now commonly reorganized as one of the cleanest cities in Africa. The safari covers mainly the Gorilla trekking activity that goes at a cost of $1500son per permit per. This activity of tracking mountain gorillas happens in Volcanoes national park which is home to over 400 gorillas. Besides the tracking activities you will able to do City tour in Kigali, visit to the Twin lakes, and community walks as well as interacting with different communities.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda- Volcanoes National Park

On arrival, warm welcome by driver guide who will brief you about the highlights of your your 3 days safari and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park which is located 80km from Kigali; Depending on the  traffic in the city centre, the drive will take you  approximately a two and hours drive to the final destination. In case you arrived in  Kigali early you will have the opportunity to do a tour the city  where you will be able to visit the National Museum or the Genocide memorial center. Have your lunch and transfer to the park in the afternoon

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park– Gorilla trekking / Community walk

Today is the for the Gorilla experience, after your early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for the briefing that starts by 8 am to enable understand the Dos and Don’ts. Later embark on the amazing adventure which is gorilla tracking, this activity commonly requires some physical fitness by the hikers. And on several occasions, it takes between 1 to 6hours in search for the Gorillas, trekkers are permitted to be with the gentle gorillas for 1 hour. It is indeed an amazing experience viewing these creatures play, guard each other, feed and respecting one another as the livein different communities. While trekking, hikers also have the opportunity to sight other animals like the golden monkeys, elephants, buffaloes as well as different bird species.

After our tracking trekking, you will be escorted back and transfer to the lodge; have lunch and to those who might opt for a visit to the twin lakes; Burera and Ruhondo or take a walk in the community and watch traditional dances of the locals  are free to do so though arrangements must be done as soon as possible Or you can choose to remain at the lodge and have a relaxed afternoon.

Day 3: Drive to the Kigali Airport.

Morning breakfast before you check out from the lodge is key and thereafter transfer  to Kigali city where you will have a short time shopping from local markets, buy souvenir to friends and family back home if you wish to and in case you still  have enough, you could also visit the pottery project and the Franco-Rwandan cultural Centre. Enjoy lunch with your safari guide before you are transferred to the airport.

Only 86 permits are issued by the Rwanda Tourism Board, so it’s important to plan your trip earlier to avoid last minute panic whether you have a permit or not.
