11 Day Uganda Safari Adventure Trip
Our 11 day Uganda Safari Adventure combines the most popular Uganda’s top visited National Parks including Lake Mburo National Park, Bwindi impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kibale National Park. These are some of the ideal destinations for primate lovers, Bird lovers, scenic lovers, wildlife photography lovers and many others.
All these activities listed above in different destinations can as well be enjoyed throughout the year.
11 Day Uganda Safari Adventure Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and pick up from the Entebbe International Airport.
Our 11 day Uganda Safari Adventure starts on arrival as our guide will warmly welcome you on arrival at the Airport or at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your 11 day Uganda safari by the guide. Depending on the time of arrival, you are advised to have your money changed on this day, and you may also have the chance to visit Kampala city, about one hour drive from Entebbe.
Day 2: To Lake Mburo National Park.
In the morning, we will travel towards western Uganda to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, we shall have a stop-over at the Equator and the crafts village at Mpambire where there are various crafts for souvenirs and most commonly local drums. Along the way, we shall have a chance of seeing the famous indigenous long-horned Ankole cattle.
Driving time: ± 4.5 hours
Budget Accommodation: Rwonyo Camp or UWA bandas.
Luxury Tour: Mihingo Lodge, Skyblue Motel, or Mantana Luxury Tented camp.
Day 3: In Lake Mburo National Park
Morning game drive in the park. With its unique characteristic of acacia woodland, it is the only national park where you can see the beautiful gigantic Elands. Surrounding Lake Mburo are swamps where cryptic papyrus specialists such as the Sitatunga, antelope and red, black and yellow Papyrus Gonoleks may be seen. Return to camp for lunch and in the evening, take a boat cruise on Lake Mburo for a closer view of the hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife. Return to the lodge and have dinner.
Day 4: To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early breakfast, we start off the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We shall drive through grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long curving horns. We then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, famously known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with terraced farming and mountain scenery. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Driving time: ± 6 hours Budget Accommodation: Buhoma community Rest camp or Wagtail Eco-safari camp.
Luxury Tour: Silver back lodge, Buhoma lodge or Lake Kitandara Tented camp
Day 5: In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Gorilla tracking.
This may be the highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi ! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Depending on where the Gorillas may be located, expect to walk a relatively long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any Gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience!
To those who prefer not to participate in the gorilla tracking can go for a guided forest walk or explore the surroundings with the Buhoma Village Walk.
Dinner and overnight in Buhoma.
Day 6: To Ishasha sector – Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast we head towards the north, passing the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (if road conditions allow). This part is called Ishasha and is famous for the tree climbing lions. After a short game drive in this area we continue to our overnight accommodation for dinner and relaxing.
Driving time: ± 5,6 hours Budget Accommodation: Students dormitory and Bandas or Savanna Resort.
Luxury Tour: Ishasha Wildness camp or Savanna Resort.
Day 7: In Queen Elizabeth National Park.
At about 6:00am we leave for the early morning game drive that will take us up about 10.00am then return for breakfast. After lunch we proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park still through the Ishasha sector. Keep watching out for tree climbing Lions!
Day 8: In Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The day begins early when we start with a morning game drive and head to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat. Before returning for lunch in the afternoon, we take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant bird life that is sighted and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores. The cruise will definitely be superb and expect to see a lot aquatic birds, hippos, crocodiles. We then retire back to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Proceed to Kibale National via Fortportal.
Early in the morning, we will drive to Kibale Forest National Park. We will have a stopover in Fort-portal, a town named after a British Special Commissioner for Uganda Sir. Gerald Portal, whose statue graces the main road of the town. Thereafter we proceed to our overnight accommodation.

DAY 10: In Kibale Forest National Park.
We will start with chimpanzee trekking at 8.00am. The trekking takes about 4 hours, during which you may also get a chance to see 10 other primates and several birds and butterfly species. Kibale tropical forest is home to a number of forest wildlife, most notably 13 species of primates including chimpanzees, and 375 species of birds. After trekking we will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland a community-based project
Day 11. End of Our 11 Day Uganda Safari Adventure as we drive back to Kampala/Entebbe.
