4 Day Gorilla and Wildlife Safari Lake Mburo & Bwindi Forest.
This 4-day Gorilla and wildlife safari Uganda starts and ends in Entebbe Uganda, this interesting safari involves viewing the Giants of Bwindi Impenetrable forest that is the Mountain Gorillas and also viewing different wildlife species in Lake mburo National Park including Warthogs, Zebras, Elands, Impalas, Hyenas are also present and Lions have also returned to the Park after years’ of poaching and near extinction.
Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala to Lake Mburo National park
After your early morning breakfast at the Hotel/Guest House, you will start your drive to Lake Mburo National park along the Masaka-Mbarara road. Lake Mburo NPK is one of the smallest Savannah National parks in Uganda with different mammals including; antelopes, zebras, hyenas and Giraffes, plus 332 recorded bird species including Shoebill, saddlebilled stock, the groun hornbills especially on the lake shores. This park covers an area of 371sq km in size and has a varied landscape full interest and color. You will arrive in the park in the afternoon, have your lunch at the lodge and there after you will transfer to the lake side and do a boat cruise on lake Mburo. This boat cruise rewards you with different kinds of animals such as Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras coming down for water and crocodiles, plus birds. Overnight at Arcadia Cottages or Rwakobo Rock.
Day 2: Lake Mburo to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today, after your breakfast you will proceed for the game drive that will last between 3 to 4 hours while sighting different animals such as antelopes, hyenas, zebras and Giraffes. There after, embark on your journey to the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable forest national Park mostly famed because of its resident Giant Mountain Gorillas. The expect arrival time is in the evening depending how the African massage roads are like. Overnight at your lodge (Buhoma lodge, Trackers Lodge or in the Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 3: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi forest
You will have your breakfast at your lodge before heading to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the Dos and Don’ts before going gorilla trekking. Your advised to carry enough drinking water and your packed lunch and also to those willing to take porter(helpers) to carry your lunch pack is at the cost of $15 and this is a way of supporting the communities around the National park. Therefore, taking a porter with you is of a great deal to the community. The trek takes between 2 to 8 hours basing on how far the giant gorillas have moved. Trekking requires physical fitness since at times it may be really tiring and coming face to face with these gorillas is a very memorable experience/moment as you will take photos of them feeding, playing and caring for babies and how respective they’re to the dominant male (The Silverback). Overnight your lodge.
Day 4: Day forest walk – Departure
An alternative forest walk or community walk right after breakfast. Thereafter, embark on your journey to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your departure flight.
End our 4 days safari.
